Iceberg Point National Monument

This is a beautiful chunk of basalt thrust into the Salish Sea. 

There are  lot of flowers beginning to notice that it has become spring.

They are all beginning to come out and look around. 

Here are a few of them. 

Late Season Orchids

I finally got to my secret orchid place yesterday.

At first I thought the flowers were all gone for the season: where I thought they always were was almost barren of color.

But I forged deeper into the woods and found the real place.

Again.

I hope to continue finding it in future seasons.
