When we were in Florence in November of 2014 the weather was nice enough for us to eat our breakfast every morning on an outside rooftop patio.
Two pigeons joined us for breakfast each morning to share some of our unsalted bread crumbs and bring us up to date about the goings on in our neighborhood since we had last seen them.
Their names were Paulo and Francesca.
