When the Brazil National Museum burned today, taking with it centuries of artifacts, it left a blank space in the world and the world’s history.
I hope the keepers of the British National Museum, the Smithsonian and la Louvre took note and are going to be even more vigilant.
If one or more of them were to burn we might as well fold up our tents and follow donnie into the gloom of trumped up apocalyptic despair and hatred.
I am really sorry for the people of Brazil.
I wish there had been a way to have saved the museum’s contents.
